When
asked the question, "Where will you spend an eternity?"
What
would your answer be?
Probably the most famous verse in
the Bible is John 3:16For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.." While not wishing to dwell
on negatives it's important to realize there is a heaven, but there
is a hell also, Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord. But we can hope of a better life: John 10:10
I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
And we can spend eternity in heaven
with Jesus Christ, John 14:3
And if I go and prepare
a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.
The must:
First, my friend, you must realize
you are a sinner. "For all have
sinned, and come short
of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is a common misconception,
that by good deeds and hard work, you will be guaranteed a place
in Heaven, but that is not what the bible tells us, Eph 2:8 For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
God's plan of salvation:
God is just, fair and holy and being
fair He is forced to implement His judgments on all sinners, but
because of His love He still offered us a way for salvation; in
John 14:6
Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me. This is the same Jesus who appeared
in flesh 1 Tim 3:16
And without controversy
great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,
The same who died for our sins on
the cross and raised again, Rom 4:25
Who was delivered for our
offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Acceptance:
Simply believe in Him as the one
who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom
God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that
the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as
Savior.
"But as many as received
Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even
to them that believe on His name" (John 1:12). And you also to give up your old habits and
sins and come back to God through Jesus Christ Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and
be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times
of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Born Again:
In the Bible
a man called Nicodemus didn't understand when Jesus said Jesus
answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except
a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That's in John 3:3
When we become
Christians, we are born again. Reborn; but spiritually.
From that point on we begin to change for the better. To become
a different person under God's influence. John 1:12
But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Confession:
In order to
be saved, you have to confess that the lord is your savior Rom 10:9
That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved.
But not just words like in Matt 7:21
21 Not every one that saith
unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but
he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
But you should have the desire and
mean it with your heart, and get rid of your old self, obey his
commandments and you will be saved and know that you have eternal
life.
- Did all of this mean anything to you?
- Is there a reason why you should not have eternal life?
- Are you ready to let God save you this very moment?
- If your answer is yes then say this prayer
"Oh God, I know I am a sinner.
I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the cross. I believe
His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now
receive Him as my Savior. I thank you Lord for the forgiveness of
my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of
Your merciful grace. Amen."
